S&M EagerBeagle
Run It and Leave No Doubt
OUR BEAGLES...AND THEN SOME!
This is Cassi. She was the granddaughter of FC
Tommy's Tuck. This dog was incredible. She was
hit by a train while running a rabbit and lived! She
went on to raise alot of puppies for us. She did not
put up with foolishness when we went hunting.
She once had me on my knees, in front of hunting
buddies, begging her to PLEASE go hunt! The
other dogs were doing alot of 'radical' stuff and
she came to me with a look that said 'Really? You
really want to run with that?'  She could bring you
to your knees! She passed away in my arms and
returned to Heaven at the age of 13. One of a kind!
In her honor, when we name our dogs, their names
end with an 'i' and have the sound of a long 'e.'
This is Tammi. A wonder on four-legs! She
loved to hunt and run rabbits. She competed
in NKC competitions and had some places in
AKC. Tough and strong, she'd run all day
long if you let her. She passed away at 9
years old, on March 9, 2009,  after a battle
with colon cancer. She left us some puppies
that we still have. A real gem!
Meet Slim. 'Uncle Slim' to young
beagles.  He belongs to the neighbor,
but, Slim doesn't appear to realize
this. Slim prefers to refer to himself
as: a beagle-wannabe! Herd cattle?
Naw. Run rabbits? You bet! He does
herd one thing: baby beagles. No
kidding!
Slim is currently 'herding' 6
pups out of soon-to-be Field
Champion Morgan's Billy B.
Keep'em safe Slim!
Kentucki Belle. She is the granddaughter of FC Nip Otis.
She goes to the field with the big dogs, but, she has to
grow bigger than a rabbit...before she can run one!
Well, she never did grow bigger than a rabbit. Just 8
inches tall and a whopping 10 pounds. She runs great!
I'll tap my shoulder and say 'Let's go rabbit hunting' and
she'll climb onto my shoulder and 'perch.' Then she'll
touch my nose with hers and look toward the field.
Great hunt and check work. Nice flow on the line. Belle
is the tiny dog in front (she got the check).
After running, Belle rides in the pocket of the 4wheeler.
A TRUE pocket beagle! In January we measured her at a
field trial. The measuring stand only went as low as 8
inches. The hammer dropped down and at 8 inches, it
still did not touch Belle!!!
Meet Near FC, CHB, Double-D Boomer-Rang!
Boomer was a Grand Champion in NKC Brace
and Pack. He had two firsts in AKC and
several other places in AKC. He competed to
the age of 10. A BIG bawl mouth! He lived to
run. He passed away at the age of 14 years and
9 months on March 17, 2009, the end of rabbit
season. He ran his last rabbit two days before
he passed away. Boomer is out of Deer Park
Spike and the majority of our kennel is a
product of Boomer. His last gift to us was a
breeding he did to another female, at the age
of 14 years and 3 months, that produced 3
beautiful puppies...who are already running
rabbits to make their dad proud.
This is Twain. Our 13 year-old 'grandmother' to
most of the kennel.  She cannot smell very
much these days, but, almost every day, she
wants to go to the field to try. In NKC, in the
Brace format, she has over 850 points, but no
Champion title because she always let's the
other dogs ahead of her! She doesn't have a
competitive bone in her body! Just alot of love
and desire. Here, I've let her know we have to
go home and her response? She'll come, but she
doesn't like it, so she stuck out her tongue! A
wonderful puppy trainer!
We lost Twain March 12, 2010. She'll live
forever in our hearts.
The lesson Boomer taught
us: The master does not
own the dog's heart.
The dog owns the
master's heart.
Nikki. She is out of Boomer and Tammi. Her
bark is like a bird chirp, but she is straight as
an arrow. Like her grandma, Twain, she
doesn't have a competitive bone in her body.
She works with puppies and in this picture,
she leaps after a rabbit who had sat down and
suddenly flushed out of the brush.
Nikki passed away December 12, 2009 from
two large cancerous, inoperable tumors.
We'll miss our peanut roller!
This is Kissi. S&M Gimme-A-Kissi, to
be exact! She is the daughter of Tammi
and Turkey Mountain Duke. Kissi is
small but can run pretty quick. She had
kidney failure due to food made by
Menu Foods (remember that mess?). She
is fully recovered now, but, is easily
stressed these days. We use her as a level
3 in puppy training when a pup needs to
learn to run faster. Kissi is clean with a
rapid fire chop...something she got from
her mom, Tammi. Here, she's just run
on Christmas Day. Santa brought her
the best present ever: a rabbit who
wanted to run and run! Kissi succumbed
to cancer and acute renal failure at the
young age of 4 on December 21, 2009!
The renal failure a result of the Menu
Foods mess! The last living pup of
Tammy.  We will miss our little yapper!
Meet Smili. Also known, by the local rabbits, as The White Storm.  The rabbit
he was running (in the  corner of the picture) sat down. Smili is within just a
few yards of it! He is fast and straight. A bawl-chop mouth that echoes with a
love for running. Smili is always smiling and his smile goes from one short
ear to the other after running furry cottontails! Smili started at barely 4
months of age after his 4th trip to the field. He was Boomer's shadow (Boomer
is his great grandfather).
Smili continues to impress. He gets way too excited at
trials, but, he's showing promise in NKC progressive pack trials. He's great to
use at home to help a dog speed up. Smili gives 200% every time. His 'smile' is
contagious!
Smili passed away. He succumbed to a combination of a Jesus thorn to the
chest and a snakebite, believed to be a rattlesnake. There is a HUGE hole in the
kennel now and we will miss our Smili bug. After healing from surgery from
the snakebite, Smili ran and when he couldn't walk the next morning, we
rushed him to the vet. The vet pulled 240cc's of fluid from around the dog's
heart...amazed Smili could breathe, much less run. That was Smili's last run.
The venom and the toxins from the Jesus thorn were too much for his system.
Smili instilled fear into the minds of the rabbits...and nothing but smiles and
love into our hearts. Love ya' Smili-bug!
Meet Daisi. Crazy-Daisi. Or, as we currently
refer to her: Yabba-Dabba Daisi. She is the
daughter of Twain and Near FC Gilliams Go-Jo
Ranger. She is Stubby and Jack's Iron Mike
breeding.  She's sweet...when she wants to be.
She can be a bit moody like her father. But, we
love her. She is great to work with puppies
because she will only take their foolishness for
so long. She is tough on a rabbit. She had
fractured her back during a fall and we STILL
had to force her to stop running her rabbit so
we could get her to the vet! That's desire. With a
little bit of crazy! She is fully recovered and is
just as mean on rabbits as she ever was.

Meet Sadie. She was the
first border collie to leave
the neighbor and live with
us (later joined by Slim).
Sadie finds beagles
annoying but puts up with
anything for a warm place
to nap during the day and
a hotdog! She does tricks
in Spanish and in English.
Wonderful sweetheart!
Not the least bit spoiled!
And, drumroll please, here is the future generation. The
momma is Daisi and the daddy is FC Star R Haymaker.

S&M Haymaker's Tini Beetoven. Tini had to have her tail
docked due to a bad break and twisting of the bone. Not
sure what happened, but once her tail was docked, she quit
growing! And, to date, Tini is smaller than Kentucki Belle
above! At least Belle will have someone that looks up to her.
